• Elvis Fest and The Iota Club

    Hey there Bluff fans!

    Wow!  What a weekend.

Elvis Fest in Chapel Hill on Friday gave us a chance to show off our best lip curl and rhinestones.  Nothing like a little Kentucky Rain, Marie's The Name, or Suspicious Minds to get into the spirit of things.  It was good to see some familar faces and some brand new ones.  Thanks to Richard Boyd of the bo-stevens for singing "The Streets Of Bakersfield" and with us and Crispy Bess for sitting in on accordian!

Saturday we loaded up the band van and headed off to The Iota Club in Arlington, VA to share the evening with The Highballers for their CD Release show.  WHAT A BLAST!  We had a packed house when we walked onto stage, and were so thrilled to see some of our good friends out there that we hadn't seen in a long while.  I can't even begin to tell you how happy that show made us.  Thanks everyone for coming out to see us!

    What's up next, you wonder?

The wait is almost over!  The CD artwork is finally finished, so we're onward to pressing!  Which means we should have the physical CD done shortly and we'll let you all know as soon as we can about our CD release show.

John has a few solo shows coming up in February, and he'll be putting them up on the calendar.  Keep an eye out on the Facebook page or John's Twitter page for last minute updates and info.

If you all have any video or photos of our shows, please feel free to send them our way!  We'd love to put them up on our blog and share them with other fans.

Rosewood Bluff fans, you are truly amazing people and we're lucky to have you along for the ride.

    Yours in Music,

  • Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from The Rosewood Bluff!

Howdy to all of you lovely people in Rosewood Bluff land!

Nice to see everyone, it's been a while!

First and foremost, HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We've all been enjoying the season with our families and friends, and hope you have too.  In North Caroilna, it's been a toss up between 70 degree weather and ice storms (Ah, we love you NC!  Don't change a thing!) so it's good to keep those short sleeve shirts around a wee bit longer.

As we make it through the New Year, we have some exciting news.  The newest Rosewood Bluff album, Everything Except Goodbye, is RECORDED and MASTERED.  We're working out album artwork and pressing as we speak, so don't you worry yourselves... it'll be here before you know it.  :)  And yes, we are so excitied and can't wait for you all to hear it.

We have a couple of shows coming up that I'd like to invite you to:

ELVISFEST! Which will be on January 10th, 2014 (that feels weird to write - 2014!) at Bailey's in Chapel Hill.  We'll be taking the stage at 11:30 PM on Friday, so come say hi and grab yourself a shot of heartbreak in the finest way possible.

On Saturday January 11th, we'll be at the Iota Club in Arlington, VA with The Highballers for their CD release party, and we're thrilled.  It should be an exceptional night of music, and worth the drive in our humble opinion.  Show starts at 9:00 PM, and $12.00 to get in.

Other shows on the way, including our CD release schedule (Yippie!!!) and we'll let you know about those soon.

Thank you all for all your constant support and friendship... we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you all.  Muchas gracias and much love.

Till then, stay warm and we'll catch you around your local honky tonk soon!

    Yours in music,

    Hello out there!

You are the best fans a band could ask for.

Keep an eye out here for updates and exciting news!  We'll be documenting the whole process, and we can't wait to share it with you all.

This album belongs to all of you, and we're excited to have you all along for the ride.

Again, muchas gracias amigos.  You all are incredible.  We've got some wonderful (well, we thinks so!) things coming your way.

    Much love,

    ~The Rosewood Bluff.

  • Great times past, great times ahead

Hey gang! After an absolute barnstormer of a show (and a storm!) at Shakori Hills Grass Roots Festival this past Friday, we were honored to find an amazing review of our debut album over at the esteemed Saving Country Music site. Check it out here, and look around their site, some great stuff there for fans of the genre. As always, we thank you for your support.

    Our best to you-

    John and the Rosewood Bluff

  • Welcome to The Rosewood Bluff's New Home!

Hello all you lovely Rosewood Bluff fans!

Bassist Billie reporting for blogging duty.

Welcome to The Rosewood Bluff's new home on the web!  As we're looking forward to our spring and summer shows, we thought it'd be a good idea to keep all of our news in one place and help keep track of all the newfangled social media outlets.

You should see John work his Twitter magic.  I'm impressed!  I can't figure Twitter out for the life of me, but he's tweeting and retweeting like a champ.  He also fixed the leaky faucet at home.  He's on a winning streak for sure!

Keep an eye out as we work through all the elements of our new website and add our spring/summer show dates.  We're really excited about everything coming together!

We'll be launching a Kickstarter campain soon to help release our next album, which we are also really excited about.  John's been songwriting up a storm, and we're working through a bunch of new tunes we hope you'll enjoy.

Hope to see you all out and about soon!
