Howdy folks! We're getting some good dates on the books, including Brooklyn with the Dixons and Boz Boorer (!) in March, a few with pal Dylan Earl, etc, and more are on the way! Keep an eye on the Shows page, and hopefully we'll be comin to your town soon. Peace and love, and if you haven't done so yet, you can check out Not Tonight on Bandcamp and Spotify. All the best, hope the new year is treatin' all y'all well!

  • Holy Smokes Lots Happenin

We're gettin super duper geared up for the release of Not Tonight which comes out this Friday, Sept 21 on LP/CD/digital via the Suah Sounds label. Really great piece on the album with history etc over at No Depression, who call Not Tonight  "a true modern-day country classic." We'll take that! If you're in the Chapel Hill area, come pick one up from us in person at the Not Tonight Release Show Sept 21 at the Local 506. Our Triad buds can come see us when we open for Justin Townes Earle the following Sunday the 23rd at the beautiful Ramkat in Winston-Salem. You can check out the album pre-its release via our buds at local NPR affiliate WUNC 91.5 FM, where it's currently streaming. New stuff up in the store, buttons, shirts, stickers and Not Tonight itself, on LP or CD.  Come see us, we're stoked on the new record and would love to say hi. Biggest love and safety to you all -

  • Not Tonight is on its way!

Finally wrapped up the new album, Not Tonight, and its arriving Sept 21 via the Suah Sounds label on LP, CD and digital. 11 tracks, tons of cool guests, sad songs. Recorded at Kudzu Ranch with my dude Rick Miller (SCOTS) over a three-year period. First review is up here (cheers to Grant Britt and No Depression), and you can pre-order the album here. Sample track is up in both those spots, it's also available for listening over at the Americana Music Show page, as well. Gotta couple shows on the books, Sept 21 at Local 506 in Chapel Hill with Sneakers Award and Lester Coalbanks & the Seven Sorrows and Sept 22 at the Evening Muse in Charlotte with our pals Amigo. Working on Asheville, NYC and more, so keep an eye on the ol' "shows" page for more info. Really glad to have this one ready to roll, and super excited to see y'all at one of the upcoming shows. Big big love and peace to you.

  • Thank the Gods for 2018

Happy New Year gang! 2017 was a drag, 2018 looks to be a damn sight better, so far, at least. I'm almost done with my solo album, Not Tonight, which despite being a "solo" album, features some killer guests. Eric Peterson (Sarah Shook & the Disarmers), Jay Brown (Tonk), Nathan Golub (Rosewood Bluff) and Alec Ferrell (Shirlette Ammons) all show up on the album, and one track ("When I'm Not There With You") features Scott McCall, Mark O'Brien and Dave Hartman - Two Dollar Pistols! Super stoked, keep an eye on the Shows page for more goodness. Big love and best to you all in the new year.

  • Tons o stuff! Bluff, Pistols, etc.

People PEOPLE. Lots happenin over here in my little world, still working on my solo album, Not Tonight, hoping to have that sucker out in the next few months. The Rosewood Bluff is also working on their third album, we've got new tunes galore, and a few shows coming up, Shakori Hills on Sunday, October 8 and the mighty Station in Carrboro on December 2 with our buds JPhono1 and the Melissa Swingle (Trailer Bride hero!) Duo. In other big news, the Two Dollar Pistols are doing another show, this time at the wonderful Garage in Winston-Salem on November 11 opening up for Sarah Shook and the Disarmers. I'm west coast bound at 4:30 AM tomorrow to do a string of dates drumming for Sarah and the gang, so check out the Disarmers site if you're in that neck of the woods. Big love to you all, hope to see you out there soon.

  • Philly and NYC solo with Joe Pug!

Northern-lvin' buddies! I'm headed your way for a couple of solo gigs opening up for my man Joe Pug! Tonight we're doing the Boot & Saddle in Philly, tomorrow night we're at City Winery in New York City! Tickets are gettin mighty low for both shows, so grab em while you can, I'd love to see you. Also, big Rosewood Bluff gig at the Station in Carrboro with super dude David Childers opening. And watch this space for exciting Two Dollar Pistols news coming soon! Peace and love, people.

  • News, Blues, etc.

Super stoked for our gig with our - er - amigos from Charlotte, Amigo! They'll be joining us Friday, September 23rd at the newly reopened Station in sunny downtown Carrboro, NC. Before that, me and Rosewood Bluff steel dude Nathan Golub will be playing a set opening up for longtime pals the Veldt at my beloved Cave in Chapel Hill on August 26. The duo show will include Two Dollar Pistols songs, Rosewood Bluff songs, a cover or two, and a few songs from the solo album I'm working on out at Rick Miller's Kudzu Ranch studio. Hoping to have the solo album - which, by the way, is called Not Tonight - out in the next six months, so keep an eye out for it. As always, we very much appreciate your support. Peace, and big love to you-

  • Sunday March 6th, with Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Raleigh NC

"Hancock, who tosses out a roots mix of old country, roadhouse blues, western dance swing, boogie bop, and straight-up Rockabilly, takes what was once old and makes it seem like it's always been and always will be."

We had a great time opening for Wayne back in 2015. We're honored to have been asked to open for him at his Pour House show on March 6th.
